Bel Air High School Mural Workshops

Murals of Baltimore and Mr. Michael Kirby was contracted by the Arts in Education Program through the Maryland State Arts Council to host a series of classes in Bel Air High School with students. Mr. Kirby worked and held classes in the High School in Harford County about the mural process for students. Mr. Kirby works closely with school administrators and teachers to create a program that will help all the participating students. Students learn the various techniques of mural painting and how to work as a team. Students worked with soft pastels, pigments, tempura and acrylics on the projects as well as a course in Photoshop. Students work side by side in effort to create one design that incorporates the views of all the students. Students learn to work for others and social etiquette.

Many projects involve creating paintings on boards and then placed in ceilings and walls.
